Bessie Florella Northup, (Betty) was born January 8, 1923; Abbotsford, B.C., Canada, the daughter of Dale Orin Northup, Sr. and Bessie Brown. She married Al Worst; (Divorced).

Betty lived in the Kalaloch area when she was a child, attended school at Clearwater and was a graduate of Quinault High School in 1939. She also attended college in Ellensburg. After her marriage, she lived most of her life in the North Beach and Hoquiam areas. She was an active member of the Hoquiam First Baptist Church and for many years, had been the church organist. She also taught Subday School.
